The Guardian Education ran a great article today about the Broad Vision art/science programme.

“Even as an observer, it is difficult to leave the laboratory. The excitement of the students is catching. I spend my last 20 minutes drawing a picture of a cat using bacteria as ink..” Will Coldwell

In print and online, plus a picture gallery  of work in progress. The results of the current experiments on the theme of ‘Data, Truth & Beauty’ will be shared at GV art gallery, 23-29 May 2013. Sign up to our newsletter for info and updates.

press, work in progress

“It’s early days, but a few British universities are beginning to address the need to facilitate cross-disciplinary enquiry between the arts and sciences to broaden minds, enrich learning and prompt effective new thinking. The Broad Vision project at the University of Westminster is an impressive example of just such a course.” says Annabel Huxley in her review of the latest publication to emerge from the Broad Vision art/science learning programme.

Broad Vision: Data, Truth & Beauty

January saw the launch of the third Broad Vision project, introducing a new group of students from the arts and sciences to the interdisciplinary learning and research programme. 20 new recruits join 10 continuing students and assistants, and 8 academics and artists, for an exploration of the this year’s theme: Data, Truth & Beauty.

The early taster sessions introducing each discipline bode well for creative exploration.

Interdisciplinary collaborative projects will develop in the coming months…
